ESPN SportsCenter host Stuart Scott was with Tiger the day he filmed his famous bouncing ball commercial for Nike. He recalled that while they were waiting for the crew to setup, Woods said, "Bet I can chip a ball off that railing over there and make it bounce into that trash can". Woods did just that. But when it came time to shoot the commercial, Tiger was having trouble maintaining the bouncing ball on his club. Finally, a cameraman taunted him, "Aren't you supposed to be the best golfer in the world?" Scott recalled, "Now Tiger gets that look in his eyes: 'Give me the ball.' Bop, bop, bop for exactly thirty seconds and then -wham- he hits it on a line about hundred fifty yards."

On its own, Tiger bouncing a ball is nothing special. After all, Seve had been doing the same with a longer club way before Tiger. But when Tiger did it, and Nike promoted it, history was made.

While on the Moon, Alan Shepard played golf with a Wilson six-iron head attached to a lunar sample scoop handle. Despite thick gloves and a stiff spacesuit which forced him to swing the club with one hand only, Shepard struck two golf balls with a six iron, driving the second, as he jokingly put it, "miles and miles and miles."

Jean van de Velde only needed to make 6 or better on the last hole of the 1999 Open Championship to win. He shot triple-bogey 7 and had to playoff against Justin Leonard and Paul Lawry. It was one of the most incredible melt-down in the modern game.

Phil Mickelson. This is quite different from what happened to Jean. This was in later years and across the waters. It involved one of the best, if not the best short game player in the world. It is an incredible and unbelievable scene in professional golf.
